A City Torn: Baton Rouge and the Civil War

Exhibit runs through December 22, 2012

Louisiana's Old State Capitol will look back on the role that the river capital played during the American Civil War in an exhibit that examines Baton Rouge during those turbulent years. From occupation to battle and epic destruction, the War Between the States had a deep and lasting effect on the city. A City Torn: Baton Rouge and the Civil War will be on view August 9 - December 22, 2012 Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 100 North Boulevard.

An opening ceremony will be held August 9 at 4:00 PM after which reenactors will fire a rifle volley.
