Speaker Series Commemorates Civil War Sesquicentennial

CIVIL WAR SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMEMORATION SPEAKER SERIES

The Atchafalaya National Heritage Area is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War with a series of presentations by historians, scholars and entertainers during the upcoming year.  Featured topics include diversity in the battlefield, battlefield preservation, and significant sites within a 14-parish region designated as a national heritage area.

Please check these dates on our calendar for topics, times and locations of presentations: In 2013, Curtis Milbourn September 24, Bobby Horton October 3 and Richard Holloway November 14; in 2014, Brian J. Costello and Julie E. Lee January 11.
