The Baton Rouge Geological Society is hosting an Earth Science Week Geologic Map Day event Friday, Oct. 14, at 11:30 a.m. at the Bluebonnet Library in Baton Rouge. Attendees will learn about map making and view a collection of maps on display courtesy of the Louisiana Geological Survey. BRGS is sponsoring a free box lunch for the first 75 non-members to RSVP to BRGeologicalSociety@gmail.com by Oct. 10.
