The Fall Ramble, a fundraiser to support the work of the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation, will be held Oct. 8 in the 210-year-old city of Donaldsonville. This year’s theme is “Polishing Our Past.” The biannual program is a daylong tour of historic sites focusing on the culture, architecture and historical significance of historic communities in Louisiana. The Ramble begins with registration and refreshments at Louisiana Square, followed by an opening ceremony at First United Methodist Church. Tours will be conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Stops on the tour include First United Methodist Church, Church of the Ascension Episcopal Church, the Netter Building/Inn on the River, the National Register recognized B. Lemann and Brothers Building, the Victorian on the Avenue, the Warrick Home/Raylin House, the River Road African American Museum, the Bicentennial Jazz Plaza and the Bahry Store/Cabahanosse Bed and Breakfast and Antiques and Gifts.
