As part of a series of talks being given in conjunction with the exhibition “Forgotten Baton Rouge,” Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is hosting an informal “brown bag” talk with retired LSU Professor Amanda LaFleur, Wednesday, Nov. 16, at noon. She will discuss how language loss in Louisiana has affected the cultural history of an era, whether we have lost important family histories in an effort to fully assimilate, and if it is truly possible to bring the language and the history associated with it back to south Louisiana.
Bring a lunch to the castle and enjoy this interesting discussion.
