The TECHE Project will host its annual Wildlife Management Workshop Sunday, January 15, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Franklin. This workshop is for anyone interested in obtaining and/or managing their own wood duck and eastern bluebird nest box and learning more about these birds. The workshop will start with a general ecology discussion by Patti Holland. Then Brent Miller and his daughter Adeline will discuss their first-hand experiences with rearing wood ducks on the banks of Bayou Teche. They will also have a male wood duck on hand so that you can get an up-close look at this beautiful bird. For TECHE Project members this workshop is free. For non-members it's $5. Both wood duck and blue bird boxes will be available for purchase at the workshop.
