Each January The Gumbo Foundation hosts its gumbo cook-off, a friendly rivalry between local chefs for the best gumbo. However, this annual event is not just about the "battle for the paddle." All proceeds benefit a local child with medical and related expenses. This year, 11-month-old Liam Williamson of Arnaudville is the Gumbo Cook-Off beneficiary. Liam was diagnosed with a rare, complex disease called Biliary Atresia. So mark your calendar for January 28, 2017, and sample award wining gumbo for a good cause!
