Originally an Italian Catholic tradition, Saint Joseph’s Altars made their way into Cajun and Creole churches after World Wars I and II. The tradition is still practiced to this day. Learn about the first altar erected in Sicily centuries ago and what items on present-day altars represent. Visitors will leave with a small bag of treats, complete with a lucky fava bean.
