Acadian Memorial Heritage Festival and Wooden Boat Congrès

St. Martinville extends an invitation to the reopening of the Acadian Memorial, the 13th annual Acadian Memorial Heritage Festival and Wooden Boat Congrès and St. Martinville’s Bicentennial Saturday, March 18, 2017, in and around the Acadian Memorial and Bayou Teche.
The ribbon-cutting will take place at 10 a.m., and the grand re-opening of the Cultural Heritage Center, which houses the African American Museum and the Museum of the Acadian Memorial will take place in the near future (the Acadian Memorial and the Cultural Heritage Center were swamped by the flood waters from Bayou Teche in August of last year).
Food, music, arts and crafts, theater, demonstrations, children’s activities and workshops will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evangeline Oak Park on Bayou Teche.
To celebrate both the Cajun/Acadian culture and the 200th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of St. Martinville, everyone is invited to dress in period costume!
