Spanish Town and Capitol Park not only share a boundary, they are both steeped in the history of Baton Rouge. Join Matt Isch, author of Capitol Park and Spanish Town and Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne for a discussion of these important neighborhoods.
This lecture is offered in conjunction with a two-week community-based history and public installation project called If This House Could Talk, founded by the Cambridge Historical Commission. The project consists of 20+ signs throughout the Spanish Town neighborhood. Each sign tells the unique history of the featured house. The signs are posted now until June 18.
The lecture and self-guided tour are free and open to the public. This event is presented by the Capitol Park Museum in partnership with Preserve Louisiana.
