The City of New Roads and Mayor Robert Myer invite the public to an art exhibit and reception July 12, at the newly renovated Info Center’s Art Exhibit in downtown New Roads. The City of New Roads has a deep appreciation of art and transformed the large open area into an beautiful exhibit featuring 14 of Pointe Coupee’s best artists: Ann Bachman, Dianne Christopher, Anita Lejeune, Devon Plauche, Robin Fournet, Lana Bernard Toniolo, Carol Reames, Carol Hurst, Brittany Pollard, Helena Reynolds, Lu McCaskill, Chase Mullen and Christina Price.
Highlighting the reception will be an exhibit and brief presentation by renowned Atchafalaya Basin photographer C.C. Lockwood. This popular artist has explored the Atchafalaya’s waters and captured its haunting beauty on film for 30 years, the latest collection of which is in his latest book, “C.C. Lockwood’s Atchafalaya.”
