Tour des Atakapas is the first race of three in the Le Courir des Cadiens series which includes the Cajun Country Run (half marathon, 10k and 5k) and finishes with Zydeco Marathon & Half.
The run is a joint coordinated project between TRAIL and Festivals Acadiens et Créoles and raises money to invest back into the parks and recreational facilities in our communities.
The duathlon will be a run-paddle-run starting with a 1.5 mile run to the river, followed by a 2 mile paddle up to Vermilionville and back, ending with a 1.5 mile run back to the finish. Paddlers will have the option of doing the paddle solo or in tandem with a partner. Bring your own boat or rent one from the Boy Scouts. Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards are all welcome.
