Port Barre
At least twice a year the TECHE Project rounds up all willing volunteers to scour the banks of the 125 miles of Bayou Teche to remove tons of garbage from Louisiana’s only National Water Trail.
When volunteers show up for a day of work and fun, everything for a successful cleanup is provided (gloves, bags, pickers, and even boats).
After, volunteers are treated to lunch, drinks, and sometimes live music from a local Cajun/Creole band. This is truly a one of a kind event.
