This five-mile trip is a laid back paddle through the wildlife of the bayou and is perfect for groups of all sizes. Participants can use any non-motorized boat — pirogue, canoe, kayak, paddle board — and bring their own life vest.
Paddlers will travel up Bayou Petit Caillou with a rest break at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden. The paddle will end at the Government Boat Launch, 5160 La. 56, where participants will leave the water and travel back to the Little Caillou Volunteer Fire Department for a crawfish boil, music, door prizes, kids activities and the Up Da Bayou vs. Down Da Bayou volleyball match.
Kayaks will be available for rental at a cost of $15.
