The Shadows-on-the-Teche invites you to a night of architecture, drinks and food!
The night begins with the opening of the exhibit "Deconstructing the Shadows-on-the-Teche" and a short talk by Olivia Johnson, Shadows’ Summer Research Intern. Johnson will explore the journey her research took while writing the special topic tour and delve into the minds of David and Mary Weeks as the two were designing the Shadows. Johnson will discuss other homes of influence to the couple, the influence of the builders, and evidence of other sites the Weeks family may have designed.
Afterward, walk through the Shadows for the inaugural tour of “Deconstructing the Shadows-on-the-Teche,” which focuses on the architectural transformation of the site from 1830 to the present. Finish the night watching twilight set over the Shadows gardens while enjoying refreshments and pondering your favorite scenic view of this historic home.
***Admission is $17.50 and includes drinks and food. Tickets may be purchased online (follow the link below) and at the Shadows Visitor Center. Limited tickets will be available at the door***
