Come enjoy one of the largest FREE public events in the state of Louisiana, which is said to be THE largest Cajun and Creole celebration in the continental United States.
This year, the Festival is commemorating the role of women in Cajun and Creole music — and the 90th anniversary of "Jolie Blonde," a popular Cajun waltz that started as a 1929 song "Ma blonde est partie" by the Breaux Brothers.
Keeping with tradition, the Festival will open with cutting of the boudin in Girard Park at 5 p.m. Five stages will be set up throughout Girard Park, with music starting Friday evening. On Saturday and Sunday, music will start at 10 a.m. and end when people stop dancing.
