Make a statement against the tired tradition of sitting on the sidewalk in front of a box store waiting to buy something on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Instead, come join Pack & Paddle owners John and Becky Williams on the Vermilion River to breathe in the beauty and tranquility of this fabulous local paddling spot with your whole family in the company of like-minded individualists. This trip as a great way to get families together to make memories and enjoy each other. While the rest of the world goes crazy at the mall you can go crazy on the river! The route will take paddlers from Heymann Park to Rotary Point (a 4-mile float with the current).
***DIRECTIONS to Boat Launch: Turn off of Surrey Street at Heymann Park onto Chargois Springs Drive in Lafayette. Follow signs to the launch to drop off your boat, then follow signs to parking***
Limited quantities of boats will be provided for those that don't have their own. Prices include drop off and pick up of the boats:
- Solo Kayak - $30
- Two Person Kayak - $40
- Canoe - $40
After arriving at Rotary Point, Pack & Paddle has rented a bus to shuttle all the drivers back up to their cars. Paddlers are invited to convene at Pack & Paddle for a community lunch.
Required Items: Water bottle, Rain/Wind Gear, hat, dry clothing for the trip home.
