The Friends of the Pointe Coupee Museum are pleased to announce an exhibition entitled "Sugar in Pointe Coupee" which will run through December 15, 2019 at the Pointe Coupee Museum.
This exhibit will highlight the importance of sugarcane in the parish, the vital role Allan Ramsey Wurtele played in the streamlining of sugarcane harvesting through his invention of the harvester, and the role of Alma Plantation's sugar mills in the grinding of harvested sugarcane.
