Shake your Trail Feather

Event Date: October 17th, 2020

On October 17, 2020, The TECHE Project will host the 9th annual Shake Your Trail Feather Festival in Breaux Bridge at Parc des Ponts Breaux. The morning paddle boat parade starts at 10am, but they advise you to be at Parc des Ponts Breaux by 9:30am.

This year, the “Paddle is the Party”. Come dressed in feathers and creative masks for a chance to win the Best Bird Mask contest. Float down the Teche with live music and other paddlers in this boat parade. At the festival grounds, there will be artisans and kid’s activities as well as food and beverages. At 5 p.m. they will auction the original festival artwork provided by their Artist of the Year as well as a kayak donated by Pack and Paddle. Try your luck at winning these super cool items.

To ensure the parade crowd is limited to a safe number, organizers ask that participants register ahead of time on Eventbrite. The cost of registration is $10, which will include an annual event pin. For safety, paraders are asked to wear a mask when not paddling—but that doesn’t mean fun can’t be had with that, too. Keep an eye on TECHE Project’s social media and for when registration opens up.
