Acadian Memorial HERITAGE FESTIVAL celebration
Event Date: March 19th, 2022
Event Description: Calling All Cajuns to celebrate Re-opening of the Acadian Memorial along with the A.M. Heritage Festival offering Cajun food demonstrations with sales of the delicious cuisine, Cajun music/ dancing , a Re-enactment of the Arrival of the Acadians to St.Martinville on the Bayou Teche, an acting troupe "Theatre Cadien" recounting the historical story of an Acadian family's deportation memories as seen on the mural of “The Arrival of the Acadians in Louisiana", guest speakers and more.
Booths: Crafts/Acadian Boutique/ Chair canning, etc.
Concessions: jambalaya, cracklins, boudin, fried fish,homemade sweets, and beverages. Bands and Music on the streets, & educational presentations, genealogy lessons, activities for kids, Chair Caining.
The Acadian Memorial Foundation encourage all to participate by volunteering, dressing in Cajun Costumes, and share a day learning about the Acadian/Cajuns history, culture, and traditions. Vive l’Acadie
