Discovery Day: Celebrations of Light Program
Event Date: December 17th, 2022
Join Capitol Park Museum for a day of interactive learning about winter celebrations of light. Winter celebrations in Louisiana and around the world include traditions of light. Come learn about what celebrations of light happen in Louisiana and why.
Bring your kindergarten through eighth grade learners and enjoy your local museum at the discounted rate of $5 per person; admission is free for members and children under six years old
- Visit the activity stations explaining all of the winter traditions that include light!
- Gallery scavenger hunt
- What does Coca-Cola have to do with Santa? Learn about the history of this drink and depictions of Saint Nicholas through time with the Biedenharn Coca Cola Museum Director.
- Food bank barrels will be in the lobby for Discovery Day. $1 off admission for donations of nonperishable, unopened food extends.
- Storytime with EBRPL.

Learn about the café brûlot cocktail and how to make it from author Sue Strachan. This program is perfect for our eighteen and older guests, but all ages are welcome
