Join Capitol Park Museum during your lunch break for our Lunchtime Lagniappe February Series, Wednesday, February 8th 12:00 pm- 1:00pm for a VIRTUAL presentation of "Together: An Inspiring Response to the “Separate-but-Equal” Supreme Court Decision that Divided America" by author Amy Nathan, along with Keith Plessy & Phoebe Ferguson, direct descendants of Homer Plessy & Judge John H. Ferguson.
Plessy v. Ferguson was a landmark 1896 U.S. Supreme Court decision that upheld the constitutionality of racial segregation under the “separate but equal” doctrine. The case stemmed from an 1892 incident in which African American train passenger Homer Plessy refused to sit in a car for Black people.
