The Atchafalaya National Heritage Area Grant Program is a federal-aid option to assist partners located within the boundaries of the Heritage Area in meeting the goals of the ANHA. This option provides matching funds assistance through reimbursement.Funding recipients, therefore, must provide proof of payment for 100 percent of eligible expenses when submitting a request for reimbursement.

20th Anniversary Postcard Call
The Atchafalaya National Heritage Area is seeking submissions from qualified artists to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the National Heritage Area designation. The artwork will be featured on a post card and an enamel pin. The artwork should incorporate the themes of the ANHA and have specific emphasis on Louisiana’s “Year of Outdoors” campaign. The artwork should highlight the natural resources of the heritage area and celebrate the unique culture of the region. Artists may discuss conceptual designs with the project manager, Hope Robinson, prior to submission of an application.
Atchafalaya Wild Grant
In 2026, the Atchafalaya Trace Commission (ATC) celebrates the 20th anniversary of national designation of the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area (ANHA). To commemorate this milestone, the Atchafalaya Wild Grant Program has been established to award grants to eligible applicants seeking funding for projects that promote the conservation and/or appreciation of the natural resources of the ANHA. Funds may also be awarded to outdoor recreation projects that provide and/or promote access to the ANHA’s unique natural environment.
