About Shrimp

• There are two primary species of shrimp harvested in Louisiana: brown shrimp and white shrimp.
• Brown shrimp are harvested in the spring.
• White shrimp are harvested in the fall.
• Shrimp are omnivores, consuming microscopic plant and animal matter. Some types even eat small fish!
